…THE FLASH FLOOD WARNING REMAINS IN EFFECT UNTIL 615 PM CDT FOR NORTH CENTRAL SHELBY AND SOUTHEASTERN JEFFERSON COUNTIES… At 447 PM CDT, areas of flooding continue due to observed rain totals of two to four inches during a short period of time earlier this afternoon across the warned area. Lingering flooding has been reported in and near Cahaba Heights, Inverness, Vestavia Hills, Indian Springs Village, Hoover, and northern Pelham. Flooding is most apparent along creeks as well as drainage and low lying areas. Due to continued impacts, the warning remains in effect.

However, earlier rain totals of two to three inches in a short period of time, observed by radar and weather stations, have resulted in areas of flash flooding. The warning will continue until the threat of flooding has ended.
