Some fairly important games across Alabama this weekend. Here is a look at expected weather:

HIGH SCHOOL GAMES TONIGHT

Excellent hot chocolate weather. Clear and cool at all stadiums. Near 60 degrees at kickoff, quickly falling into the 50s. Up in NE Alabama, it could be as low as 56 at kickoff.

SATURDAY COLLEGE GAMES

TENNESSEE TECH AT AUBURN: It is homecoming for Auburn with a 1:30 p.m. kickoff. Clear with low humidity, about 74 at kickoff, lowering into the 60s by the second half, NW wind 5-10 mph. Similar weather is expected for Jacksonville State at Samford, except maybe a couple of degrees cooler.

LSU AT ALABAMA: Kickoff at Tuscaloosa is at 4:00 p.m. Zillions of people expected. Should be clear with 70 at kickoff and about 58 at the end of the game, a light NW wind. I listened to WWL Radio, New Orleans, for about 4 hours last night and for about 2 hours this morning and the LSU fans are triple-charged for this one. WWL is a 50,000 watt powerhouse at 870 on the AM dial and comes booming in here. I was still getting good reception at sunrise this morning. Have heard it at night as far away as Fargo, North Dakota, Evanston, Wyoming and Ogden, Utah.

SOUTHERN MISSISSIPPI AT UAB: Kickoff is 6:00 p.m. at Legion Field. Clear with light winds. It should already be down to a cool 60 at kickoff and about 50 at the final whistle.
