No it’s not a celebration of all the icy temperatures we have had lately.
It is the Shelby County Amateur Radio Club’s annual get together at the Joe Tucker Park in Helena. It will be Saturday morning from 8 a.m. until 1 p.m.
According to Amateur Radio Operator John Miller (KI4VVM) there will be a lot of HAM gear being sold for the family of Eric Sims (K4SCI) who passed away last month. There will be HAMS from all over and anyone else who wants to join in swap, trade, or sell ANYTHING from their truck tailgate or car in a place in the park. Last year they had a great turnout and had everything from digital cameras, rolling tool boxes, five dollar volt meters and more, to trailer loads of radio tower sections and antennas.
You can go to their club web site for a map to the park at which the entrance is located next to the East side of Helena City Hall. John is a member of ALERT which Brian Peters help start when he was with the NWS as well as many other HAM groups. If you’re around Helena this morning, head on over!
