Showers and storms are occurring at this hour from the eastern portions of the Birmingham Metro area eastward into St. Clair County. Frequent lightning and brief heavy rain are the main components.
Outflow from these storms could trigger more storms from eastern Tuscaloosa into southwestern Jefferson and into Bibb County.
But stronger storms extend from southern Talladega County through Clay and into Randoplh Counties. Ashland and Wedowee are getting socked pretty good right now with frequent lightning and torrential rain.
The cells over Talladega and Clay Counties have already spit out an outflow boundary and wil be weakening.
Overall, the intensity of the storms has been decreasing.
