A few isolated showers are beginning to pop up across north central Alabama this afternoon. We are expecting more showers and possibly a few thunderstorms to develop heading through the rest of the afternoon. A cold front continues to push southeast across Alabama today. Along and out ahead of the front, a warm, soupy air mass is in place and is favorable for some convective activity.
These showers will pass through any location they are affecting rather quickly and should not cause to much of an issue with any outdoor activities that are ongoing across the state. Some storms could produce lightning and gusty winds, but severe weather is not expected today.
