Have gotten some reports of large hail now in the Huntsville area…with quarter sized hail being reported around Jones valley, which is south of the city…heading toward Hampton Cove.

This is a representation of VIL parameters from the Hytop radar. It shows indications of hail.

That storm appears to be weakening now on radar. But other storms are intensifying in Jackson County south of Scottsboro.

Other storms are intensifying over Morgan County.

All of this activity is in the Tennessee Valley and will stay well to the north of central Alabama, but it will be a theme with today’s storms. Hail will be the thing we talk about most, along with the possibility of damaging winds. Of course, heavy rain and lightning will be a threat as well.
