After avoiding Alabama most of the day, thunderstorms decided to roll into the state this afternoon.

Just before 5 pm, a line of thunderstorms extended from near Decatur southward to west of Tuscaloosa. Some of the stronger storms were over Marion and Winston County and now moving into NW Walker County.

They were moving toward the ESE and SE.toward Fayette and Walker County..

Some of these storms may reach the Greater Birmingham area before the “Afternoon Drive” or “Afternoon Rush Hour” is completed.

Lightning is prominent with these storms like so many other storms this summer.

Be aware..
