And, it is a wet morning. At 10:45 am, most of the weather “action” was over the north from just north of Birmingham to the Tennessee Valley. NWS in Huntsville issued two Flash Flood Warnings during mid to late morning and a Severe Thunderstorm Warning affecting parts of Limestone and Madison County.
Very heavy rain now in progress from Cullman and North Walker County northward. The most active lightning was over the extreme northeast mostly from about Huntsville eastward.
There are no watches in effect at this time.
We are getting off to a good start with rain amounts so far in the first 11 days of 2012. Two examples in the last 24 hours:
1.86 Decatur
1.66 Cullman Ag Station
Will post a more complete list a bit later this morning.
