The MCS continues to move through the west-central parts of Central Alabama and is now currently pushing into the Birmingham metropolitan area.
You can expect heavy rainfall, dangerous cloud-to-ground lightning, and gusty winds up to and possibly exceeding 40 MPH.
The good news is that at this point the line has settled down a little and there are no severe thunderstorm warnings in effect across the area.
Heavy rainfall will possibly lead to some ponding and flooding issues across the area and the NWS has issued an Areal Flood Advisory for parts of Bibb, Chilton, Jefferson, and Shelby counties until 11:00 pm.
We’ll continue to keep you posted.
