Governor Kay Ivey today announced that Owens Corning, a building products leader, is making a significant investment to construct a new shingle manufacturing facility in Prattville, providing a massive economic boost to Autauga County.

The facility is expected to create nearly 100 skilled manufacturing jobs, according to the Alabama Department of Commerce.

The new plant will operate a four-wide laminator capable of producing approximately 6 million squares of laminate shingles per year, bolstering Owens Corning’s production capacity for its high-performing roofing products.
