My daughter, Rebecca, and I had a spectacular day Monday with lots to see and explore in and around the Mt. Rushmore area of Southwest South Dakota. Here are pictures we took that sample the day.
The first few pictures are from Mitchell, SD, and Wall Drug at Wall, SD. We started out Monday at Mt. Rushmore and drove south to Wind Cave – interesting story about how the cave was discovered involving wind and pressure. Driving through Custer State Park we saw buffalo, pronghorn, deer, and prairie dogs. We took way too many pictures of buffalo, but they are so fascinating.
Driving to Wind Cave we actually encountered rain and snow mixed. Plus we’ve been in South Dakota for three days and we’ve been hailed on every day. Nothing big in the way of hail – all very small – but hail notheless.
Hope you enjoy the pictures.
