A woman was killed early this morning in the Locust Shores Community in Colbert County, about 4 miles west southwest of Tuscumbia when high winds felled a tree onto a mobile home. The damage occcurred about 2:35 a.m.
It is a sad reminder of how important it is to take severe thunderstorm warnings seriously when you are in an automobile, mobile home or even a site built home when a tree could fall on it.
Also…the power line to the automated weather observing station at the Decatur Airport was knocked down with trees on top of it. One plane was flipped at the Airport. There have been no reports from the Decatur ASOS since just before midnight last night. This damage occurred about 12:18 a.m.
