Heavy showers and storms over Shelby County from Meadowbrook to Harpersville down through Calera and into northern Chilton County are producing very heavy rains. A third of an inch fell at the Shelby County Airport in 20 minutes. Some areas have likely already picked up an inch of rain with more rain falling.
This will produce localized flooding in spots.
Watch out for frequent lightning as well.
Other storms are over northern Sumter COunty, along the Bibb/Tuscaloosa County line, and over southwestern Cleburne County.
Everything is moving slowly northeast.
