Let’s focus on the main storms and look at Talladega, which is looking good right now. Click thumbnail to enlarge image.

AUTAUGA COUNTY
Severe thunderstorm warning just issued for Autauga and Lowndes County. Strong storm northwest of Autaugaville (which is west of Prattville). It will drift southeast toward Autaugaville. It is crossing the Alabama River now into Lowndes County. The hail core is straddling AL-14 right now. Again, lightning, heavy rain and small hail likely.
BIBB COUNTY
Strong storm sitting on AL-25 between Centreville and Wilton. It has been enhanced by a passing outflow boundary and will start to weaken soon. Storm likely has some small hail and will produce brief heavy rain and lightning. It will move slowly southeast.
TALLADEGA
Rain free as of 10:15. No showers threatening the track right now, although weakening showers between Oneonta/Gadsden and Ashville might brush the track as they dissipate. No other rain upstream and I think the airmass behind the boundary is increasingly stable, so hopefully the showers are over. Can’t rule out a stray one, but things are looking good at the track. It will remain cloudy as clouds are thick all the way up into Northeast Alabama. Race temperatures will be in the 70s, quite delightful actually.
