The NWS has issued a severe thunderstorm watch for parts of northwestern Alabama and northeastern Mississippi up into Tennessee and Kentucky.
Storms have intensified this morning from southern Kentucky through Middle Tennessee into northeastern Mississippi.
There have been several severe thunderstorm and tornado warnings this morning out of the Nashville NWS office. We just saw a new severe thunderstorm warning from the Little Rock office behind the main activity.
The activity in the watch area will continue to push eastward and could intensify as it encounters slowly increasing instability through the morning. Damaging winds and hail are the main threats. There is a very small risk of a tornado as well.
