Along with the tornado watch across South Central Mississippi, there is also a severe thunderstorm watch not in effect for most of North Mississippi. Severe thunderstorms are developing along the Interstate 20 corridor and in SE Arkansas crossing the Mississippi River near Greenville, MS. All of this activity is north of the warm front, so damaging winds are not a major concern. The main concern with these storms are very large hail. Storms approaching the western boarder of Alabama near Meridian are producing large hail and are currently severe. These storms should be approaching Sumter County during the next hour. I would not be surprise to see additional severe weather watches issued for portions of North Central Alabama.
