THIS AFTERNOON: A dry cold front is passing through Alabama. North of the front temperatures are in the upper 50s and low 60s across the Tennessee Valley… south of the front we have mostly low 80s across the southern half of the state. The cool air will continue to push southward tonight; look for lows tomorrow morning in the 40s and 50s with a mostly clear sky.

The weather stays unusually quiet for the rest of the week (for late March). We will mention the chance of a few small, isolated showers Wednesday, but the weather will be generally rain-free with afternoon highs rising back into the low to mid 80s by Thursday and Friday.
THE WEEKEND: At this point the weekend looks dry and cooler. Highs both days between 66 and 74 degrees; mostly sunny days and fair nights.
And, the latest global model output suggests the dry pattern continues into the first half of next week. It will be sometime in early April before we experience our next widespread rain/storm event… See the video briefing for maps, graphics, and more details.
