CONDITIONS JUST BEFORE 2:00 PM
We are starting to get some clearing over the north and central parts of Central Alabama, but where the thicker clouds have eroded, a few thin clouds are floating over and filtering out some of that sunshine. Temperatures are in the mid-40s to the mid-50s across the area at this point. Birmingham was at 50 degrees while the cool spot was Cullman at 46 degrees. The warm spot Dannelly Field in Montgomery at 55 degrees.
WEATHER FOR THE REST OF YOUR SUNDAY
We’ll continue to have some showers over the extreme southeastern portion of Central Alabama through the next hour or so, then the rest of the day will be dry for all in the area. Skies will continue clearing through the rest of the day, ending up with mostly clear skies by the late night hours. Afternoon highs will only top out in the mid-50s to around 60 degrees across the area, with overnight lows in the lower 30s to the mid-40s.
FREEZE WARNING FOR THE NORTHERN PARTS OF THE AREA
NWS Birmingham has issued a Freeze Warning starting at 3:00 am Monday and expires at 9:00 am Monday for Blount, Calhoun, Cherokee, Clay, Cleburne, Etowah, Fayette, Jefferson, Lamar, Marion, St. Clair, Talladega, Walker, and Winston counties.
SHOWERS POSSIBLE AFTER LATE NIGHT ON MONDAY
We’ll have a good bit of sunshine through a good part of the daytime hours on Monday, but clouds will begin to move in late. We’ll have a chance of a few showers across the area during the evening into the late night and overnight hours, but those should be gone by just after daybreak on Tuesday. The better chances of showers will occur south of a line from Demopolis to Clanton to Alexander City. Highs will be in the upper 50s to the mid-60s.
