As advertised, storms are lifting northward across South Central Alabama late this afternoon. They are entering Sumter County and extend across Marengo, Dallas and Lowndes Counties. Moderate showers are over Southeast Alabama.

The storms to the south and southwest are strengthening as they approach Selma and Demopolis.

They contain heavy rain, lightning and gusty winds.

They are running ahead of schedule, as I had expected them to be dying out about 7-8 p.m. in the US-80 Corridor. They are already there.

They will affect parts of Greene, Hale, Marion, Bibb and Chilton Counties between 530 and 630 p.m. CDT.

It appears that they are going to move into lesser instability over West Central Alabama, over Pickens, Lamar and Fayette Counties, so we will have to see if they hold together. They could affect Tuscaloosa. It looks like they will stay southwest of Biringham
