Strong storms over northern Jefferson County are near Morris. They extend northward into Blount County near Hayden.

They are lifting northeastward and will affect Blount County with heavy rain, intense lightning and strong gusty winds.

The severe thunderstorm warning for Tuscaloosa, Pickens and Greene Counties has been canceled. The storms have weakened a bit. Ron Hughes was reporting intense lightning west of his location in Coker.
