Severe thunderstorm warnings remain in effect for Fayette, Lamar and Pickens Counties for strong storms pushing southeast across those counties.

Strong storms were starting to develop along the boundary left over from this morning’s thunderstorm complex across much of Tuscaloosa and Bibb Counties over to Coosa, southern Tallapoosa and into Lee Counties.

Storms will continue to intensify along this line through the afternoon, bringing torrential rain, intense lightning and the possibility of damaging winds.

A severe thunderstorm watch is in effect until 6 p.m.

The storms will be intense rain makers as well, producing two inches or more of rain in a short period of time.
