A severe thunderstorm warning has been issued for Clay, Lowndes and Oktibbeha Counties in eastern Mississippi, which includes Columbus.
Storms are intensifying over eastern Mississippi as expected.
They will reach western Lamar County between 1 and 1:15 and Pickens County between between 2:30 and 2:45.
Expect large hail and the possibility of damaging winds.
The storms extend to the northeast into Northwest Alabama near Russellville. The cells approaching Hamilton are weaker for now.
Storms were developing across Winston County down into Walker County. One rapidly developing storm was just northeast of Winfield.
The line is pushing southeast at 25-30 mph while individual cells are pushing east.
