Some Snow Possible Tomorrow Across Central Alabama
WINTER WEATHER MISCHIEF TOMORROW: With the upper trough approaching tomorrow, precipitation will increase over the southern two-thirds of the state, and cold, Arctic air will creep in from the north. This combination will bring thermal profiles favorable for some snow across parts of Central and Southwest Alabama, and NWS offices in Birmingham and Mobile have issued a Winter Weather Advisory for this region… Continue reading
Some Snow Possible Across Central Alabama Friday
COLD DECEMBER DAY: Temperatures are in the low to mid 40s over much of Alabama this afternoon, but places like Alexander City and Auburn are only in the upper 30s with a very cold rain falling. Cold Pattern; A Few Flakes Possible Friday Morning
COLD AIR SETTLES INTO ALABAMA: Temperatures are generally between 36 and 42 degrees this morning, and unfortunately they won’t change much through the day as cold air advection continues in the low levels. The day will be cloudy, highs will be in the 40s, and we could see some patchy light rain or drizzle. Not exactly a “Chamber of Commerce” kind of day. We are currently blanketed with clouds for the most part, with the exception of the northeastern corner of the area. This cloud cover is holding the temperatures back a little, with mid-50s to the mid-60s showing up across the area. Continue reading
Cold Air Invades Alabama Tomorrow
WET, COLDER TOMORROW: Rain will push into Alabama tomorrow as the front moves southeast. The good news is that we don’t expect any severe storms, although some thunder is possible. Looks like a decent part of the rain will be post-frontal, in the colder air. Rain amounts of around 1/2 inch are likely. Continue reading
