Strong/Severe Storms Possible Through Tonight
RADAR CHECK: Strong storms are on the Alabama/Georgia state line at mid-afternoon… a severe thunderstorm warning is in effect for parts of Chambers County as I write this update. And, new showers and storms are forming near the Tennessee River. We expect a marked increase in the number of thunderstorms over the next few hours, and where storms do form that could be severe in spots with potential for strong winds, heavy rain, and lots of lightning. A Few Strong/Severe Storms Possible Tomorrow Afternoon
RADAR CHECK: So far today showers and storms have been a no-show over much of Alabama… the only ones on radar at mid-afternoon are over Mobile and Baldwin counties in the southwest corner of the state. The sky is partly to mostly sunny with temperatures in the low to mid 90s. Still some risk of a few isolated storms through the evening hours… and a storm could drop into the Tennessee Valley tonight ahead of a surface front. Continue reading

A FEW STORMS THIS AFTERNOON: The radar shows no rain across Alabama early this morning, but we expect a few scattered showers and thunderstorms during the peak of the daytime heating process this afternoon and early tonight (mostly between 2:00 and 10:00 p.m.). Showers/Storms More Numerous Across Alabama Today
RADAR CHECK: A few showers are in progress across Northwest Alabama early this morning, ahead of an organized batch of rain and storms over the northern half of Mississippi. Understand it won’t rain everywhere, but most communities have a decent chance of seeing some rain later today Continue reading
Only Isolated Scattered Afternoon Storms Through The Weekend
HOT SUMMER DAYS: The weather will trend drier across Alabama through the weekend. Understand, there is always the risk of a “pop up” shower or storm during the heat of the day this time of the year, but they should be few and far between through Sunday. Better odds of seeing a shower are over the southern quarter of state, and near the Gulf Coast. Continue reading
Storms More Numerous Tomorrow; Heat Levels Drop Next Week

The more numerous storms at mid-afternoon are over the eastern half of the state; heavier storms are capable of producing strong gusty winds, heavy rain, and lots of lightning. Away from the storms temperatures are mostly in the mid 90s. Continue reading
Another Hot Day With Afternoon Storms; Some Heat Relief Next Week
BACK INTO THE 90s THIS AFTERNOON: Don’t expect much change in the Alabama weather situation today. Highs in the mid 90s, a partly sunny sky, and random, scattered showers and storms from about 2:00 until 10:00 p.m. But, over the weekend, the large scale upper high responsible for the heat will begin to shift westward, and heat levels begin to fall slowly. We project a high in the low 90s tomorrow, followed by upper 80s Sunday. Continue reading
