TOMORROW THROUGH THE WEEKEND: A warm front will move slowly northward through Alabama tomorrow, bringing widespread rain. A decent part of the afternoon could be dry over South Alabama as the front moves north (most all of the rain will be along and north of the front), but we will keep rain in the forecast over the northern half of the state into tomorrow night. Temperatures will hold in the 60s over North/Central Alabama tomorrow with clouds and rain; the air will be stable so we aren’t expecting much in the way of lightning. Continue reading →

FRIDAY AND THE WEEKEND: Rain becomes widespread across Alabama Friday and Friday night as a warm front lifts northward. The rain could even be heavy at times, especially over the northern and western counties. The air should be fairly stable, so we don’t expect any severe storms, and probably little lightning. DRIER AIR RETURNS: Radar shows the last batch of showers over far East and Southeast Alabama early this morning; that rain is rapidly moving into Georgia, and dry air will take over. We are projecting some delightful autumn weather through Thursday with sunny pleasant days and clear chilly nights. Highs will be in the low 70s today and tomorrow, followed by mid 70s Thursday. TONS O’ SUN: A very dry airmass covers Alabama this morning, and we are clear and very cool to start the day. Most places are in the 40s over the northern and central counties of the state, but colder pockets are on the 30s.
