Here is the Alabama warning situation at 8:40…

Our strong line of storms now extends from Centre to east of Gadsden to just west of Anniston to Talladega to Clanton. Severe thunderstorm warnings blanket the area ahead of the line.

If you are in the path of the line, expect strong winds possibly of 60 mph or greater, torrential rains and deadly lightning. There could also be some hail.

A tornado watch is in effect ahead of the line until 11 p.m. across Central Alabama.

Once the main line passes, your severe weather threat is over, although you will experience off and on rain and thunder for up to an hour or so.
