We are currently at 60.23 inches of rain for the year in Birmingham. This is already enough to rank as the 24th wettest year in Magic City history. We should see another nine inches of rain between now and the end of the year. If this happens, 2009 will end up being the sixth wettest year in Birmingham history.

Here are our ten wettest years:

1. 1929 81.82
2. 1961 76.48
3. 1932 75.36
4. 1920 71.45
5. 1979 69.70
6. 1998 67.27
7. 1900 67.00
8. 1967 66.84
9. 2001 66.73
10. 1946 66.71
