By 3 am, Alabama thunderstorms were awake and making noise very early on this Thursday morning. A thunderstorm with loud thunder was in progress over NE Jefferson County in the Trussville with very heavy rain.
However, a west-east line of storms extended from North Bibb County eastward across Shelby County and all the way across Talladega and Clay County to Randolph County along the Georgia border.
NWS, Birmingham has issued a Areal Flood Advisory for Clay, Randolph, Shelby, St, Clair and Talladega County until 5:15 am
Lightning is almost continuous.
