Heads up for our friends in Lamar County as a Tornado Warning has been issued for a cell located over Clay and Oktibbeha counties in Mississippi moving to the northeast at 40 MPH. As this cell continues to move to the northeast, it will be moving into untapped air and could continue at its current strength as it moves into western Alabama.

People in Lamar County should be ready to act. If you wait until the warning is issued, it will be too late.

Tornado Watch was just issued for a good portion of the northwestern parts of Alabama, including Tuscaloosa, Jasper, Cullman, and Huntsville, until 7:00 pm tonight. Counties include Fayette, Lamar, Marion, Pickens, Tuscaloosa, Walker, Winston, Colbert, Cullman, Franklin, Lauderdale, Lawrence, Limestone, Madison, and Morgan counties.

We’ll keep you posted throughout the day. Have your plan and kits ready to go now in case you go under a warning.
