No Alabama Counties are included in the new severe thunderstorm watch.

Since the storms are nearly out of the state, no watch was posted for Alabama.

A severe thunderstorm warning continues for Calhoun, Cherokee, Cleburne, Etowah, St. Clair [AL] till 12:45 PM CDT. DeKalb County also is under severe thunderstorm warning until 12:45.

Over the rest of North and Central Alabama, showers and storms cover much of the area north of I-20. Only the East Alabama storms are severe now and the storms over the rest of the area have not shown any signs of intensification in the past 30 minutes. But additional severe weather is possible through the afternoon and especially tonight.

Damaging wind gusts from stronger storms as well as the possibility of hail will be the threats. There could be a tornado or two west of Alabama this afternoon, but we expect the activity to morph into a big line of storms that will move through later tonight and the tornado threat will be very small at worst.
