No matter what measure you use to judge a good weather day, I think there is little dispute in calling today an absolutely fabulous day. The visible satellite image just below shows clear skies from the Gulf Coast of Alabama all the way to the northern border with Tennessee. There are a few clouds along the front that will be moving through Alabama during the afternoon and into the nighttime hours, but the atmosphere over our state is very dry so we are not expected to see any showers. Nearest showers were just southeast of Nashville.
We started the day out on a chilly note with much of the northern third of Alabama at or slightly below freezing. With a clear sky, the temperatures across North and Central Alabama have climbed nicely into the 60s for most spots. Mobile was the warmest location with a very nice 71 degrees.
If you like today, you should really like Sunday. Looks like more of the same with lots of sunshine and slightly warmer. Morning lows will generally be at or slightly below 40 degrees, and afternoon highs well into the 60s. So it will be a great day to get outside and enjoy the gorgeous weather.
