A cold front currently in the Ohio Valley continues to race our direction and will be bringing with it, the coldest air so far this season.
Until it passes, we will maintain the chance of some light to moderate scattered rain at times through the afternoon and evening hours; rain amounts will be under a half of an inch. It will remain a cloudy and cool day with temperatures in the 60s.
The sky becomes clear tonight as the cold front sweeps through the state. By tomorrow morning lows should be close to the 40° mark, making it the coldest morning so far this season.
SUNNY AND COOL SUNDAY: During the day tomorrow, we expect sunshine in full force with a high in the low to mid 60s. Tomorrow will also feel cooler due to a brisk northerly wind at times but overall it will be a gorgeous fall day.
METEORS FROM HALLEY’S COMET: Right now, specks of dust from Halley’s comet are disintegrating in Earth’s atmosphere, kicking off the annual Orionid meteor shower. Forecasters expect the shower to peak this weekend with 20+ meteors per hour emerging from the constellation Orion. The nearly full Moon could reduce visibility, but it is possible to avoid the glare if you look at the right time.
