I am sure you have heard about some controversy within NOAA about some budget items. We record WeatherBrains on Monday nights and David Black stays up late to do all of the processing needed to get the show to you. It takes a couple of hours and last night, right after he finished, he got a call from Bill Proenza about the NOAA issues. Without going into all the details of editing, Mr. Proenza’s comments are heard in this episode and if I had not told you, you would not have known that he called after the program. WeatherBrains has a very dedicated and talented host (who stayed up WAY past his bedtime) in David Black.

Weather By Any Other Name: Controversy is brewing between The National Weather Service, The National Hurricane Center and NOAA, The National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration. We’ll see if there is any “name†calling … and we talk with William Proenza, Director of NHC;
