WARMER DAYS AHEAD: Scroll down for a list of lows around Alabama this morning… tonight won’t be as cold, although some of the colder pockets across Northeast Alabama could see a light freeze early tomorrow. Most places will see a low tonight in the 34-39 degree range.

OUR WEEKEND: Tomorrow looks very nice…. partly sunny with a high in the mid 60s. We reach the low 70s Sunday with a mix of sun and clouds; just a small risk of an afternoon shower thanks to an increase in low level moisture.

FOOTBALL WEATHER: It will be cold for tonight’s high school football playoff games. The sky will be clear, with temperatures falling from the upper 40s at kickoff to near 40 by the final whistle.

Tomorrow, Alabama hosts Georgia Southern at 1:00 at Bryant-Denny Stadium. The sky will be partly to mostly sunny, with a kickoff temperature near 63 degrees, falling into the upper 50s by the fourth quarter. Auburn hosts Samford at Jordan-Hare Stadium (12:00 CST kickoff); the weather will be delightful for homecoming with a sunny sky with temperatures hovering in the low to mid 60s for the entire game.

THANKSGIVING WEEK: We rise into the mid 70s Monday and Tuesday with only widely scattered showers both days. Then, expect a good chance of showers and possibly a thunderstorm Tuesday night into early Wednesday with a cold front slowly moving through. For now the chance of severe weather looks pretty small, and rain amounts of around 1/2 inch are likely. Drier air moves in Wednesday with a clearing sky by afternoon, and we cool down with a high in the upper 60s.

Thanksgiving Day still looks delightful, with a sunny sky and a high in the low to mid 60s after a morning low in the upper 30s and low 40s. Dry weather continues on Black Friday with highs in the 60s.

Still evidence of some active weather in the form of heavy rain, severe thunderstorms, or both the weekend after Thanksgiving; the 12Z GFS cuts off an upper low west of Alabama, keeping rain in here into Sunday and Monday of the following week with some flooding potential. One way or another it looks like the first weekend with really foul weather since August for Alabama. See the Weather Xtreme video for full details.
