Each Monday afternoon, the U.S. Department of Agriculture, Alabama Field Office releases their Weekly Crop and Weather Report including data from 34 weather stations around the state. Here is a selection of brief notes from the report. The information is still valid even though it is one day old.
* 27% of Alabama has very short top soil moisture,
* 48% was very short a week ago, so that is quite an improvement.

* It was 13% a week ago.
* 36.2% of the state’s pasture and range land is in very poor condition.
* 24.6% of Alabama is stull under the Exceptional Drought designation, which is 17.3% less than last week.
* 55% of the cotton crop was rated very poor or poor as compared to 68% a week ago.
