We are in the first hour of a new day. It is Friday and it could be a stormy day. The coffee has already gone stale and I am headed to bed.
But I should mention that showers and thunderstorms at 1 am were already breaking out across Arkansas and Extreme NW Louisiana. The eastern edge of the family of storms was near the Mississippi River and poised to enter Extreme NW Mississippi. Everything was moving ENE and NE.
This is the beginning of the major storm system that we have been mentioning for several days. For Alabama, some of those thunderstorms could become severe later this morning and today.
This is going to be a day when everyone should be in an enhanced weatherwise mode.
Lighter showers were also developing along and off the Gulf Coast as moisture streams northward from our good friend, the Gulf of Mexico.
Bill Murray will be keeping watch if anything significant develops for us for the remainder of tonight and also Friday.
