A beautiful October afternoon is in progress across Central Alabama as high pressure ridges into the Deep South from West Virginia through Central Tennessee.

A cool easterly flow around the high pressure ridge is pulling cooler, dry air into the state from Georgia. Temperatures are in the 60s, with middle 60s from I-65 west, and lower 60s in the east.

Dewpoints are low, around 40F, indicating the dryness of the air.

Skies are crystal clear and deep blue, about as pretty as you will ever see in Alabama.

Some high cirrus clouds were working their way to the north over South Alabama and will affect Central sections of the state this evening and overnight.

Lows will be in the 40s.
