Clouds will hang tough for much of the day today. Arkansas is in the clear and there are some breaks in the clouds to our west and northwest, so I suspect we will see some sun by afternoon. The Skycam at Birmingham actually showed a small break in the clouds this morning. Going to be a nice Fall day except for the clouds with highs in the lower 60s. If the clouds break a little earlier and we get a bit more sun, those highs could be a few degrees warmer.

Sunday will be a great Fall day as high pressure at the surface settles over the Southeast. But our weather pattern remains busy with an active flow. Another storm system approaches late Monday promising a bit of rain. The upper pattern becomes fragmented with the faster flow to our north leaving a weak short wave over Texas. This could mean some additional rain on Wednesday.

But the next big trough comes on the scene primarily on Friday. With a good southwesterly flow aloft ahead of that, we could tap into Pacific moisture once again making rain a possibility for Thursday. The front should pass through Central Alabama on Friday. Hopefully, though this is a long way into the future, it will pass through early enough to end the rain before Friday night football. Timing is always an issue dealing this far in advance. But right now next Saturday looks like another gorgeous Fall day.

SPC outlooking an area for slight risk today in the Mid-Atlantic States. And the NHC folks are watching an area of disturbed weather over the Bahamas, but there is little chance for development.

The flow remains pretty progressive out into voodoo country, so we should continue to see rain chances about every three to four days.

A tad late with this edition of the Weather Xtreme Video since I slept in this morning. Spent the day helping my daughter move to a new place yesterday and we got a lot done. Didn’t move too fast but steady and all day long so when I zonked out last night, I really zonked out. Will try to have the next Xtreme Video posted by around 8 am tomorrow morning. Godspeed.
