Thunderstorms over East and NE Jefferson continue to weaken.

Main concern now is Fayette and Tuscaloosa County. A significant Weather Alert is posted for both counties until 5:15. This includes the city of Fayette.

Almost solid line of thunderstorms extends across the north edge of Tuscaloosa County NW across Fayette County and extreme North Lamar County, extreme SW Marion County into NE Mississippi. This line of storms was moving south.

If you are in the path of these storms, very dangerous lightning, strong winds possibly gusting to 45 mph and the possibility of hail up to 1/2 inch in diameter.

Earlier these thunderstorms caused some wind damage north of Jasper in Walker County.

The strong thunderstorm that was over NE Jefferson County earlier broke up and weakened greatly.

There was also a cluster of strong storms in Central Alabama along the Coosa/Chilton County line. They will be moving southward affecting mainly East Chilton County and Western Coosa County.

Overall, it seems the storms are going downhill a bit except along the line of storms mentioned above.
