Most of Alabama dry at this hour. However, a line (not solid) of moderate to heavy showers developed over East Alabama from near Montgomery NE across South Tallapoosa County to near Lafayette in Chambers County. Line moving slowly SE, individual showers toward the east or NE.

Now our attention is turned to the north and NW. There is a big strong group of strong storms over North Mississippi including a “bow echo” It was literally pouring rain from west of Columbus to near Greenville.

This complex was moving generally south but some of the showers were edging into NW Alabama.

The NWS/Storm Prediction Center, in Norman, Okla., has much of Alabama under a “slight risk” of severe weather today. We will watch for an update of that discussion.

As the week continues, looks drier and hotter for most of Alabama especially late in the week and the weekend.
