Two rain systems affecting Alabama tonight.
1. Raining over about the SE half of the state due to a developing low pressure area and warm front over the northern Gulf of Mexico. Just before 9 o’clock tonight, the heaviest rain was over the SE and also over the SW.
2. The showers that have struggled much of the day trying to work their way eastward from Mississippi were finally spreading into NW Alabama. Those are associated with a cold front that extends north to south from West Tennessee south through the heart of Mississippi. Very slow mover.
Most of the precipitation was moving NNE to NE instead of more eastward.
