As many of you probably know, Dr. Tim Coleman is an absolute nut about the river. His family owns a house on the banks of the Warrior River, and he and I have gone there on several “river adventures” in the past. Unfortunately, his interest in the river has rubbed off on me, and I really enjoy my trips to the Warrior River where I get a chance to use my camera (Warrior River in Early October, 2008).

Back about a month ago on one of our trips, I took several pictures of the MV Tim Parker, a towboat owned and operated by Parker Towing, Northport, AL, which were posted on the Blog. Mr. Ron Jesser, dispatcher with Parker Towing, contacted me to request permission to use one of those pictures on a display in their office lobby. I was surely happy to have someone use one of my pictures, so I said yes, but before our emailing was over, Tim and I were invited to the christening of their newest towboat, the MV Curtis Taylor. The ceremony took place yesterday at 2 pm on the banks of the Warrior River at their Northport headquarters.

Here are a selection of shots I took of the event. I met many wonderful people who were very gracious hosts and genuinely happy to have us there. My apology to all those wonderful Parker family members and staff since I can’t remember all the names of those in the photos.
