It was raining over NW Alabama this afternoon but it was not much and not moving east very fast.

However, some light rain had spread as far east as Cullman, Walker and Tuscaloosa County.

It was mostly light, although some moderate showers over Lauderdale and Colbert County in the NW corner of the state.

To the west, there were more numerous showers with better amounts across most of Central and South Mississippi. The heaviest rain of all was over extreme South Louisiana.

You have to go over the open waters of the Gulf of Mexico to find lightning. Most of that lightning is east and SE of Victoria, Corpus Christi and Brownsville.

A couple of rain amounts as of 12:00 noon:
0.22 Muscle Shoals
0.04 Decatur and Haleyville
0.44 Tupelo in NE Mississippi
2.53 Shreveport (one of the heavier amounts and that is a 24-hour total)
