Rain was extensive late this afternoon across Central and South Alabama but very little over the north third of the state.

The rain was moving steadily toward the ENE. (In fact, almost due east)

At 5:20 pm, much of the rain was light however there were pockets of heavier rain over the southern counties.

Some moderate rain as far north as Bibb and Chilton County.

No lightning currently indicated. However, earlier this afternoon, there was a Severe Thunderstorm Warning for parts of Mobile and Baldwin County near the coast.

We could hear a bit of thunder tonight but we do not expect a severe weather event.

Rain should be ending Saturday morning as temperatures recover to the 60s in the afternoon.
