We look around the Alabama countryside and we see that line of thunderstorms still being a troublemaker down over the southern counties.

The line extended from SW Alabama northeastward to between Montgomery and Troy to near Phenix City. Eastern part of the line is stronger and the NWS/Birmingham was still issuing Severe Thunderstorm Warnings along that part. Lots of people being kept awake.

Lightning detection equipment indicated the line of storms was still overdosed with lightning.

Cold front pushing into the south part of the state and there is a big change in the air mass. The 11 pm dew point was a moist 64 at Dothan but it was in the upper 30s over the northwest.

I am a numbers guy and I am still plagued with a 4th grade curiosity. (and some folks say mentality) I wish I knew:

1. How many lightning flashes across Alabama during the event?

2. How many hail stones fell from the sky? How about that softball size hail near Anniston?

3.How many warnings were issued?

4. How many words J&J (James and Jason) uttered during the long-form coverage on TV?

Since I will never know, I will head to bed and forget about it. Congrats to a large number of people who did their usual great job Wednesday!
