Hurricane Force Wind Warning Wednesday
South wind sustained 70 mph after midnight. Wednesday…west wind sustained 80 mph diminishing in the afternoon. 26-foot seas in ice free waters. Snow and freezing spray. This is not a hurricane, of course, but the viscous low pressure will produce hurricane force winds.
WEST TEXAS
94 degrees at both Pecos and Fort Stockton Tuesday afternoon. Hottest in the USA. These two towns are prone to dust storms. Spent the night once at Pecos during a howling dust storm. Next morning there were little piles of sand that had penetrated under the door and through the windows. Not much sleep because of the chocking dust. Next morning we had to force our door open because huge piles of tumbleweeds had reached a depth of about three feet. Had to pule piles of tumbleweeds away from our car.
