Most of the rain at mid afternoon had shifted into Central and South Alabama. Most of the significant rain was generally bounded by Montgomery, Mobile and Dothan. Even a few fresh lightning strokes over Extreme SW Alabama.

There was also some steady, but lighter rain from near Birmingham east to Gadsden, Anniston, Roanoke and Wedowee.

Everything moving toward the NE.

Some good amounts of rain today but not everywhere. Some the heavier amounts, well over an inch was over parts of West Central, NW and North Alabama.

The low pressure area was centered near Columbus., Miss., this afternoon, very close to where yesterday’s models said it would be. It is an elongated low pressure area.

Temperatures at 3 pm were in the 50s over most of North and NW Alabama but pushing 80 down over the SE corner of the state.

Also, some wedging effect from the east coming in from Georgia.
