As 6 o’clock approached, almost no rain was indicated north of the Tuscaloosa/Birmingham/Gadsden line. Southeast of that line, rain was rather extensive all the way down to the Mobile area and into the SE part of the state.

This included some heavy showers over SW Alabama including Mobile and Baldwin County.

However it is not over for North Alabama.

Rain was widespread from SE Texas and practically all of Louisiana and the south half of Mississippi. Moving NE but the overall rain shield was also edging northward.

Near certain that more rain will get back into the Tuscaloosa/Birmingham/Gadsden areas tonight and even further northward.

No lightning now. Only lightning indicated on lightning detection equipment was along the Arizona/New Mexico border.

Starkville, Miss., home of Mississippi State University has received well over three inches of rain in the last 24 hours.
