ALABAMA UPDATE AS OF 6:45 AM
The SE half of Alabama getting almost all of the rain early this morning. Heaviest rain at 6:45 was in a broad band from about Mobile northeastward to Montgomery, Auburn and Opelika.
Most of the state along and NW of the Livingston/Tuscaloosa/Birmingham/Gadsden line getting a break.
Birmingham Airport now approaching two inches from this storm with an additional 1.82 inches since nightfall. Just a few storm totals so far:
2.35 Cottondale
2.40 NorthFork near Hamilton
1.85 Noccalula Falls
1.86 Coker, west of Tuscaloosa
More totals later today. I will be pitching in some for Bill today. The Murray family is in position to watch the shuttle launch this evening at 7:43 EDT or 6:43 Alabama time! He reports almost no internet access where he is.
