It turned out to be a nice day for much of Alabama after all. At 4:30 this afternoon, the rain had moved out of all of Alabama except a little tiny corner of the SE.

Sun broke through in many areas and temperatures climbed into the 60s almost everywhere, even some low 70s down south.

This has been a good soaking rain for most of the state–excellent to get the topsoil in good shape for spring.

And it is not over.

Already waiting in the winds is a new rain area over Louisiana and spreading toward the NE. Some of that rain will reach Alabama late tonight and Monday morning.

Since Alabama is now quiet, lets roam around the countryside and give you some spot temperatures at 4 o’clock Alabama time:

52 Clines Corners, New Mex, gusts 39 (will write a story about that interesting spot one day
80 Miami
59 Dallas-Fort Worth
61 Kansas City
57 Chicago
46 New York
39 Bismark
61 Denver
61 Los Angeles
39 Seattle
-40 good ole Deadhorse, Alaska
-40 Alert, northern most station in Canada

As you can see, a mild afternoon for most of the good ole USA.

Bill Murray and family are settled in on the beach awaiting the shuttle launch tonight. I feel sure he will have a good description of that awesome event later tonight or in the Monday Morning edition of the 7-Day planner and e-forecast.
